Since september 2015, Dr. Mohamed Morchid is Associate Professor in the Laboratoire Informatique d'Avignon (LIA) within the University of Avignon, France and Ass. Prof. Mohamed Morchid has obtained the Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) in computer sicence at november 26th 2019. He also gives different courses on computer science at the Centre d'Enseignement et de Recherche en Informatique (CERI) of the University of Avignon. The research interests of Dr. Mohamed Morchid lie on Artificial Intelligence (AI) with a special focus on deep neural networks with applications on Natural Language Processing (NLP).

From septembre 2014 to august 2015, Dr. Morchid has been an Teaching and Research Assistant within the University of Avignon, France. He has pursued his research by proposing a robust representation of noisy documents from an automatic speech recognition system in a reduced space. Then, Ass. Prof. Morchid has proposed original methods based on topic models to locate short text messages from sharing platforms. From november 1st 2013 to febuary 1st 2014, Dr. Mohamed Morchid spents time visiting the Microsoft Research (Cambridge, UK) Laboratory and worked on the PowerPoint Assistant international project. He has proposed original methods to allow Microsoft customers to enrich their PowerPoint presentations with relevant content. Mohamed Morchid has obtained at 25th november 2014 his Ph.D. in Computer Science within the LIA on Natural Language Processing (NLP), and more precisely, he has proposed robust representation of noisy documents from an automatic speech recognition system (dialogues) or from sharing platforms such as Twitter or Youtube.

In addition, Dr. Mohamed Morchid serves as Associate Editor for IEEE/ACM Transactions on Audio, Speech and Language Processing and as Action Editor for ACL Rolling Review. You can find out more information in section Research.
